Halo og god dag godt folk, (Hello
and good day - in Norwegian).
My name is Thomas Thomassen and
you can read more about me on this page. Have fun and I hope you
enjoy yourselves browsing this site.
Ive just started my sixth year
here at the Kalayaneesithammarat English programme. The students
we've got are very good and they're willing to study hard to
reach their goals. With a little encouragement, they do try to
use English as much as possible, and they make me very proud.
When I first came to the KNEP I
was the M2 and M4 teacher. Now I teach all the Mattayom2
students English and M1 students Computers and Information
Technology.
About myself ... well, there's
not much to say. I started screaming almost 30 years ago and I
think I am still considered a screamer, as I'm a descendent of
the Vikings, the big mouths of the past. Yes my friends, I do
come from Norway, but for the last few years I've been
travelling all over Europe and Asia. I was in Ireland for almost
a year working as a call centre agent for a big computer
company. On leaving Ireland I came directly to Thailand where I
started work at a Bangkok school. After only two months there,
I'd had enough and moved south for the quieter lifestyle here in
Nakhornsithammarat.
Now as a big city boy I can not
say that I've never thought about leaving, but something seems
to be holding me back. It might be the friendly people, the
various greens of the mountains and fields, or the open roads
for riding my motorbike (with very few traffic police). I am not
sure why, maybe it's my students, I don't know, but I just cant
seem to be able to leave.
I am not a dedicated athlete
as you can see from the picture on this page, but I do like to
play basket ball and ultimate frisbee. Other than that, I like
riding motorbikes around in my free time but still have a little
sense and also have a pick up truck. Still, I will often go away
for the weekend to the beach or some other interesting place as
I enjoy traveling around this part of the country.
