I‘ve now been
here in Thailand for nearly 3 months now and the time has
passed very quickly indeed. My first month here I went to Phuket and
Phangnga on the west side of the country. Both places are very
pretty and in Phuket especially, there is a lot of tourism because
of the beautiful beaches there. Phangnga is also beautiful and is
very green and with a lot more mountainous.
My second month
here, September, and I was in Surathani (the province directly north
of Nakhonsithammarat) where I had to spend 5 days in a Buddhist
Temple. We had to wake up at 4 oclock every morning to
meditate and do yoga. We would have breakfast at 8 oclock
and then we’d have 1 hour free. We slept on concrete beds and all
day we would have to meditate. It was cool but also very very tiring.
I have
also been to Koh Lanta, a popular tourist island that is in the sea
of Trang. We were there for 5 days but most of the time we just
remained in the hotel. In our free time we swam for a long time in
the sea and at night we would make a bonfire on the beach. We amused
ourselves and had a lot of fun too. It was a great experience with 7
other Exchange students who came from countries like Australia,
Columbia, Brazil, Germany, the USA and of course me, from Mexico.
After 2
days I had to leave Koh Lanta and headed to Nakhonsithammarat, the
town in which I would go to school. I started studying with The
English Program of Kanlayaneesithammarat School. So far I have been
at this school for just over one month and I’m really enjoying if. I
am not the only foreigner here as in the school I am studying, there
are 5 foreign teachers. These teachers come from Europe, the USA and
The Philippines. I am in an English Program which I like very much
because I have many free hours and the classes are good fun too.
Probably the following month goes to Malaysia in a trip of the
school, I hope to be able to go, becouse that it is a country that I
would like to to know. |
