HAT PITI, SICHON 2009
15th & 16th
January 2009

It was just a normal day for us all on Thursday 15th January 2009.
We had our classes as normal but when we had finished them we were
then going to on another English Camp, our last one as Mattayom 2
students. This time we were going to be staying one night at the Hat
Piti Resort, only 60kms from school but a welcome break from
studying. Our English teacher, Ajarn Thomas had already told us that
there would be a 'singing' contest during the camp so we had already
practiced and were looking forward very much to the competition that
evening.
At
2:45 our coach turned up and we all made sure our bags were stowed
safely before we boarded for the relatively short journey to the Hat
Piti Resort. The drive up took just under an hour and we arrived at
4pm. The first thing we did was we got our room keys from Ajarn
Neung Ying, took our bags to our rooms and had a quick look around
the resort.

As
evening came, we all got ready and practiced for the 'KNEP Idol'
contest that we were to have that evening. We had already made
costumes and other things that we were to need so it was just a case
of us practicing our words and our dance movements. Some of the
teachers were judging us and that made us more determined to put on
a good show. One by one each group showed their 'act' and in turn
they were each judged and given points. Some shows were good but
there was a couple of very good shows which were much appreciated by
all those who were watching. Half way through the show we stopped
for an interval and during that time we had some food. After our
intermission we continued with our 'idol' competition. Once the
competition was finished, the judges gave their marks. It was all in
fun so the points didn't really matter ... that much. After we had
heard the points, there was some more food and then we had a little
'disco' and were afterwards given freetime to do what they wanted.

The
following morning, after our breakfast, we first had to say thank
you to our teachers because it was in fact Teacher's Day, a Thai
tradition. After singing songs and saying thank you, we played some
rotation games before boarding the bus back for the journey back to
Nakhon. All in all I think everybody really enjoyed themselves and
I'm sure everyone can't wait until the next English Camp!!
