ENGLAND

20th March - 10th April 2010.
Day 1
We left Savannabhumi Int Airport at 1.30 pm.
Everybody was excited for the trip. The plane ride was pleasant and the food was
great. You can see the menu on the picture we took. Most of us tried western
food, some like it and some don't. It's good that they tried something new first
because they are similar to what they have to eat for the next 3 weeks in
England. Once we all got the off the plane something exciting happened. Worapan(Da) forgot
her passport under her seat and she didn't realize it until we were going
through the immigration. Da and I ran back to the gate we got off together as
fast as we could. We managed to get back to the immigration point on time before
everybody else went through it. On this first day in the UK, Da managed to be a
part of 2 exciting stories! Da also tripped at the airport while we were running
around to find Central Bus Station. I was fallowing Da and I could see the
orange bag she was carrying fly up in the air when she fell down. We all heard
the "BAM!" sound. It was so loud. Another girl, Sitanun(Ribbon) also tripped and
broke her luggage but her friends helped her fix it. Imagine,
sixteen 14-year-old Asian students and six adults running around Heathrow Int
Airport together. It was probably quite entertaining for them to see. Finally we
made it to the bus station on time. It was cold and dark but the students were
still very energetic and excited to see their host families. We arrived in
Exeter at around 1 am. Some of the host families were already there. All the
teachers waited until all the students were picked up and made sure everything
was ok then we took off to our apartment.
Day 2
All the students stayed with their host families and tried to recover from their jetlag.
Day 3
This is the first day at school and the first day for them to walk to school as well. Everybody arrives school a little bit before 9.30 am. We gathered at the meeting room first and then the students were separated into two groups for the English level test which covered written and interview test. We of course got a lot of compliments from the teachers here of how advance their English level of our students are. After the result, the groups were divided into pre-intermediate and intermediate levels while students from other European countries are still in the beginner level. Kudos to the teachers at the EP! The students were in class until noon and from two to four o'clock the students did treasure trail where they got to know Exeter and won prizes. They were tired but happy.
